The collection consists of papers of Louise Jones DuBose from 1923-1976. The papers consist mainly of correspondence relating to DuBose's writing career under the pen name Nancy Telfair and includes letters from Julia and Julian Harris, Ellen M. Carroll, and Ernest Hartsock. Other materials include DuBose's speech "Women in Columbus, 1828-1928" and a paper entitled "Mrs. Stowe's Cousin" about Laura Beecher Comer. The collection also contains a few letters (1860-1861) from Augusta Jane Evans (Wilson) in Mobile (Ala.). Several refer to rumors of a romance to a "Black Republican" and another is written to Henry L. Benning and G.V. French in Georgia in January 1861 regarding Evan's views of the Union and the South and her refusal to sign a proposed memorial to be presented at the Georgia State Convention.
